Apache is a free, open source and cross platform web server software developed and maintained by the Apache Software Foundation, released under the permissive Apache License. All of our Linux servers run both the Apache and nGinx web servers, with Apache handling all requests that require execution of PHP scripts because it offers more useful environment variables and configuration parameters than nGinx at the cost of being slightly less performant.

We occasionally post Apache configuration tips and tricks to, for example, help speed up your websites or server response times.
